Sharks and Jets and More

The other night the kids and I were talking about how Romeo and Juliet is West Side Story is High School Musical – young lovers from different families, gangs, cliques – the same old story repeating itself.

Willa Cather said something similar – only much better.

"There are only two or three human stories, and they go on repeating themselves as fiercely as if they had never happened before; like the larks in this country, that have been singing the same five notes over for thousands of years."
