Rain Garden Grows

Here's a look at the expanded rain garden. The Hobbled Runner's role was limited to helping dig up and dispose of the sod. Shana did the rest - adding dirt, edging, planting, etc. It looks pretty bare compared to the well grown - almost overgrown - older rain garden to the rear, closer to the house.

Have I ever mentioned how hard it is to dig up grass/sod that has been in place for 50 years? The roots just don't want to give up without a fight.
