Of course she the Hobbled Wife made it home, and we all survived. The Friday AM incident just rolled off the Dude, and he jumped up and down and hugged me when I returned home from work.
Highlights of the week - spending less at Target than Mom. Wednesday afternoon the kids saw me wince in the check-out line.

"Oh, that's nothing," said Maria, "Mom always spends over $100 every time."
