Now It's Time to Shop

December 21 – the Christmas shopping season has begun.  Time to hit the stores!  

“But John – you’re late,” you say.  

No, I’m right on time.  

For years I beat myself up for not shopping earlier.  Why couldn’t I be like those folks roaming through stores in September and thinking, “Why that’s the perfect gift for Cousin Ned,” – and then actually purchasing it, taking it home, and storing it away for Christmas.  I’ve made my peace with the fact that I’m not an early shopper.

  

Despite living less than a mile south of Rosedale, I’ll probably frequent the small stores – not because I’m a shop-local zealot – but because the older I get, the more uncomfortable I feel in large malls.
